Eurotrip: Dubrovnik

For the past few years, there is one city that has topped the "must see cities" list. It started when Joe described his experiences here, and has intensified with every travel article and picture I've seen of the city. Now that I have been here, I can solidly say that Dubrovnik is one of the coolest cities I have ever seen. For once, the pictures may just do it some justice.

A primer: Angie and I spent an entire day walking the city walls, exploring the old town, seeing a separate fortress, and then going on a sea kayaking expedition. It may just have been my favorite day yet!

As I said, Angie and I went sea kayaking in the afternoon. She was a bit scared, as she had never been kayaking before. However, she bravely signed us up for the adventure and kayaked like a pro! We had so much fun on this adventure, and I am so proud of her for conquering yet another fear. Plus, we pretty much were the best kayakers our guides had ever seen. They suggested we try out for the Olympics. And I'm 99% sure they were serious too. Anyway, we kayaked to the nearby island of Lokrum before landing at a tiny cave and swimming for a bit. It was so much fun, and an excellent way to the city from the ocean.

For once, I'm not ready to leave yet! Dubrovnik was incredible and I really hope to be back soon. But for now, it's time to catch an overnight ferry to Bari, Italy before we explore our last new country before returning home.

I would have been nervous kayaking, but the pictures are beautiful!
